World War II
This half term we are going to be learning about World War II and its affect on life here in Britain and see what is was like for people in Dorset.
There is so much you can find out about World War II and we won't be able to cover everything, so if there's something that particularly interests you please do research and find out yourself. Then bring your work into school to share with the class.

What was it like in a Roman home?
This week you are going to be investigating what it was like to live as a Roman.
You're going to find out about Roman homes.
There is a big difference between rich and poor homes.
Did you know that rich Roman homes had underfloor heating?
Here are some links that will help you with your learning.
Remember you can visit a real life Roman townhouse in Dorchester. The ruins are free to visit and you will see a fantastic example of mosaic flooring and hypercaust. The Dorchester County Museum also has many artefacts found in Dorchester.
Your challenge this week is to use different evidence to find out about the past. You are going to need to investigate Romans invading Britain and be able to answer some questions.
Watch this clip. It shows you different forms of evidence, but also gives you lots of information!
Look at the first few sections of this link too and watch the video.
To start our topic on the Romans we are going to find out about the start of Rome and how it built an empire.
